Brian Flores is an American journalist currently serving as the morning news anchor for CBS Colorado (KCNC-TV) in Denver. He joined the station in April 2023 and co-anchors the morning newscasts alongside Michelle Griego.
Before that, he was a morning anchor/reporter for Fox 13 Seattle from 2016 to 2023. He has also worked as a morning reporter and anchor for KTVU ‘Mornings on 2’ in the Bay Area and as a reporter for Fox 5 San Diego.
Brian has nearly 20 years of experience as an Emmy-nominated journalist. He is a proud journalism graduate of California State University, Northridge.
Brian comes from a family of journalists. His father, Ernie Flores Jr., was the first Filipino journalist for the Arizona Republic and San Diego Union newspapers.
His father also started a community newspaper called “The Filipino Press” in 1986, which is still in publication today.
Brian is a San Diego native and is excited to call Colorado home. He enjoys snowboarding, coaching Little League and volleyball, and spending time with his family. He has three school-aged children and has been married for over 15 years.

Brian Flores was born and raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York City, to Honduran parents.
He attended Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, where he played football as a running back and linebacker from 1999 to 2002.
After high school, he went on to play football at Boston College as a linebacker from 1999 to 2003. An injury prevented him from playing in the NFL.
Brian is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, where he studied journalism.
Flores comes from a family of journalists. His father, Ernie Flores Jr., was a pioneering Filipino-American journalist who worked for the Arizona Republic and the San Diego Union newspaper, becoming the first Filipino reporter for both publications.
In the late 1980s, Ernie founded The Filipino Press, a newspaper dedicated to the Filipino community in San Diego, which continues to be published even after his passing in 2005.
Brian has one older sister. He also has a cousin who is a journalist for KQED in the Bay Area.

Prior to his tenure in Seattle, he was a morning anchor and reporter for KTVU in Oakland, California, from 2012 to 2016.
